The 25th Annual LGBTQ+ Leadership Council Gala

hosted by President Joe Biden, and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden

July 1, 2024
Last Friday I had the honor of attending The 25th Annual LGBTQ+ Leadership Council Gala hosted by President Joe Biden, and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, in Midtown, Manhattan. Irrespective of the discourse surrounding the current presidential election cycle, I wholeheartedly believe that we can (and should) agree on the importance of upholding LGBTQ+ rights at every level of government-federal, state, and local, regardless of election cycle outcomes. Pride month might be over, but the fight to uphold LGBTQ+ rights continues on a daily basis.
As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor I will continue to center my practice around providing LGBTQ+ affirming care- no matter what. As a community organizer, I will continue to cultivate and supportLGBTQ+ safe spaces. As a political consultant I will continue to champion legislation that supports LGBTQ+ rights and protections, and will denounce hate-based legislation that limits or restricts medical and mental health treatment for LGBTQ+ individuals.
